The past few weeks, one of the things I've been writing copy for has been Watercolors, the smooth jazz station on SIRIUS Satellite Radio. I've gotten pretty familiar with something most people know nothing about: The works of Kenny G and Sade and ...well, there aren't any other famous smooth jazz musicians. It's made to fade into the background. It's hardly related to jazz at all. Dentists play it as they fire up the drill. I can only assume people listen to it because it calms their nerves and/or they have a terrible taste in music.
This animated short was put together by fellow Cuser Mike Stern. As someone who's been exposed to smooth jazz lately, I can attest that it really captures the essence of the genre. Turn up your speakers, and enjoy the smooth.
