The naming of hurricanes has always been random. Climate Name Change aims to change that. For too long, the campaign says, the Andrews, Sandys and Ivans of the world have been getting screwed. They didn't do anything wrong, but their names are forever linked to unfortunate natural disasters. So why don't we start naming storms after assholes who aren't doing anything about climate change?
This mock PSA aims to draw attention to the climate change issue by calling out politicians who say they don't believe in it. The Marco Rubios, Rick Perrys and Michelle Bachmanns of the world. Even though science has proven it, and 97 percent of climate scientists agree that the planet is warming and humans are the reason, some of our country's policy makers are in denial. And their inaction is detrimental to fixing the problem.
This campaign, created for 350 Action by Barton F. Graf 9000, is an entertaining piece of content that uses humor to draw attention to a serious issue.
